Dick Durbin, Wrong as usual

On Iraq:
“The violence is marginally down in Iraq, but not enough to achieve our real goal, which is to bring American troops home,” added Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.). 07/10/08

On Supreme Court's ruling - Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting:
"This school year alone, over 20 Chicago public school students have been killed by guns. And in April there was a 10-day stretch in Chicago where there were 48 shootings. ... Acknowledging that gun ownership is a basic right does not absolve us from the constitutional and moral responsibility to protect innocent children" _ Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. 06/26/08

On late term abortion:
"...and I am trying with this amendment to strike a reasonable compromise.
" (Durbin's Amendment ed.) tries to draw a reasonable, sensible line, a good-faith line, of where we will allow abortions in late- term pregnancies." 03/13/03

On a bill to protect unborn children from assault and murder, and for other purposes.
Bill (H. R. 1997 ) to amend title 18, United States Code, and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Durbin (D-IL), Nay 3/24/04

Another Hersh Hoax

From CNN:
(Seymour ed.) Hersh said U.S. officials were involved in "extensive planning" for a possible attack -- "much more than we know."

The effort has been under way at least since last summer, Hersh said on CNN's "Late Edition.

"The goal is to identify and isolate three dozen, and perhaps more, such targets that could be destroyed by precision strikes and short-term commando raids," he wrote in "The New Yorker" magazine, which published his article in editions that will be on newsstands Monday.

According to Hersh, the 'effort' has been going on since the summer of 2004 (4 years ago) since this story is from January of 2005.

Apparently, Hersh's goal is to keep yelling fire so that when the fire doesn't happen, he can claim his reporting prevented it.

And there won't be an attack on Iran because General Petraeus wouldn't have taken the Commander position at Central Command. Unless Iran does something very suicidal.
